Olympics Summer Camp at VBS 2016!

Andrew and Catie went to Vacation Bible School Camp at a nearby church once school ended. It was Olympics themed and several friends from school were there too! They had the best time and learned some great bible stories while having fun doing Olympics themed activities. We had some great discussions after camp!

Day 1-  “But with God, everything is possible.” (NLT) Mark 10:27b

Day 2- “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him and I amhelped.” (NLT) Psalm 28:7

Day 3- “All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize thatwill fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize” (NLT) - 1 Corinthians 9:25

Day 4-  “Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all theirhearts.” (NLT) Psalm 119:2

Day 5- (missed this day) “Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come tothe father except through me.” (NLT) John 14:6

Unfortunately they had to skip the last day of camp because we flew to Hawaii!!

End of the School Year 2016

The last week of school was a little bit crazy, but a lot of fun.

Catie's class had a last day of school Luau and a Field day and Andrew's class had an end of the year party and Field Day. Since I was the room mom at Catie's school I ended up just helping at her school.

It is amazing how much Catie grew during the year this year. She learned a lot about being a good friend, communicating, listening, following directions, and reading! Catie is a great reader and we are giving all of the credit to Andrew because I didn't help her at all!

The last day TK luau was simple and a bit crazy. We tried decorating outside and the wind was so intense that everything kept getting blown down. Fortunately TK kids have low expectations. I also put together a book for Catie's teacher with cute little quotes from each child. It was a hit!

During one of the days at the end of school, Ryan and I (and Annabelle) went to Chick-Fil-A as our last "date" of the year. I loved my afternoons with this kid while Annabelle slept and the big kids were at school.

Andrew had a great year this year as well and loved his teacher!

After school we went home and I gave the kids some surprises to help kick off summer! I also had a big blow up pool in the backyard and we had fun playing in that and relaxing and also going to our neighborhood pool with some friends. It was a great last day of school!!

We ended up ordering pizza and enjoying dinner at the pool and staying till late. What a great way to end the year!

Crazy we will have a pre-k kid, a kindergartener, and a 3rd grader next year!

Utah Buskirk Reunion 2015

Last week we went to Utah for a reunion with the Buskirk clan! Allen & Liesl came out from Maryland and we loved hanging out with Shari, the Buskirks, and the Johnsons all week!

We drove from CA to Utah and only stopped a few too many times for the bathroom.

Some of the places we visited included Swig (yummy cookies & flavored soda), Waffle Love, and Sweet Tooth Fairy. We also hiked Bridal Veil Falls and Battle Creek Falls, spent the day at Lagoon and Lagoon-A-Beach (Water park), played at the Provo Rec center and Shari's pool, watched The Minions with Buskirk cousins, had a reunion with a bunch of Kevin's cousins, watched Shauna sing in the 24th of July Mormon Tabernacle concert, and slept in till 10 or 11 some days! I also ran every morning with my mom and Shauna, Shari, Liesl and I had a fun afternoon out for lunch at Goodwood BBQ.

The main reason we went out to Utah was for my nephew Brett's mission farewell. He leaves for Taiwan in August. We are so excited for him!

After about a week of fun we drove home! Here are tons of pictures from the week. Someday I may come back and write more about them.
