Memorial Day (Monday)- Andrew had his first hang out playdate with "the boys"- Dylan (9 months) and Calvin (12 months)- and their dogs. While the boys played, Andrew had fun looking at them and sleeping. The moms had a great time eat a delicious lunch that Jen (Cal's mom) made- pumpkin muffins w/ cream cheese frosting and Chinese Chicken Salad (yum!).
After the playdate with the boys, we headed down for a BBQ at Shari's house and some fun time hanging out with Bryant, Candice, and Olivia.
Tuesday- We had a playdate with Maddie (18 or 19 months old... she's such a big girl now, I've lost track!) She taught Andrew how to color, put stickers on papers, play gently with a baby doll, and how to make the jungle play gym make more exciting noises. Andrew LOVED smiling at Maddie and cooing and talking to her. At the end of the playdate when I turned off the music and starting putting stuff away to leave, both Maddie and Andrew started to cry! We already can't wait till the next time we can play together!

Wednesday- (Escondido Elementary playdate day) We started off the morning with a "mommy playdate" at the Stanford dish. My friend Lorna and I walked while Andrew and Aila (Lorna's 6 month old little girl) slept. Lorna used to work in the 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms at Escondido before she headed off on maternity leave earlier this year.
Later in the afternoon we headed over to Katharine's house for a playdate with Kailee (7 weeks old). Katharine is one of the 2nd grade teachers at Escondido. We were pregnant buddies this year and even shared a joint work baby shower. Andrew & Kailee had fun hanging out in the pack n play and staring at the mobiles and the moms. The moms enjoyed eating brownies and chatting. Such a fun day!

Thursday- Our last activity of the week before we headed to Utah was a fun visit with Liz & Grandma Blanche. We got to see George (almost 2 months old!) and Grace too. George is recovering so well from his surgery and looks great! Grace also showed off her mommying skills. She's going to be a super helper to her mom once her Grandma leaves. At one point in our visit, I was holding baby Andrew, Liz was holding George, Grace was holding her baby, and Blanche also found a baby doll to hold... Grace thought it was so funny!
Overall, we had such a busy and exciting week full of fun with friends. I feel so blessed to have so many wonderful friends who are such incredible moms. I am learning so much! I also LOVE the mommy playdates :) Keeps me sane when the week starts to get boring or we run out of cleaning to do.
