Our own celebrity!

On August 16th we flew out to Utah so that we could go see my dad in his first appearance at the Marriott Center. He was the keynote speaker at the August 17th commencement for the BYU Marriott School. The title of his talk was "Observe or Participate?" He did an incredible job and inspired us to make sure that we don't just sit on the sidelines as we go out into the world... but instead, participate actively in our communities, church, families and work environments.

Here's a picture of dad as they're getting ready for the program. He got to go up and practice standing at the podium so that they could adjust it to his height when he got up to speak.

After the graduation ceremony we had fun meeting some of the graduates and their families. We were especially excited to see our friend Regan Guth (My old roommate Miranda's husband) graduate with his MBA right after my dad's commencement address. Congratulations Regan!! Once the festivities were over, we went to a reception for business school graduates and then we got to enjoy a delicious lunch with the Deans and their wives in a small conference room in the Tanner Building. It was fun to get to know the people that my dad will be working with on a daily basis. We were glad to get to fly out to attend such an incredible event for dad!
