Seattle Sightseeing

A trip wouldn't be Smithkirk-style unless we jam packed every minute full of adventures and exploring! So, in addition to fun times at Bruce's wedding, we managed to find some other things to do in the remaining few hours we had in Washington over the weekend. Here are a few more pictures from the crazy quick trip.

Sleeping on the late night flight to Seattle

The stylin rental car- our favorite features were the roll up windows and manual locks... do you think I ever remembered to lock the doors?

Andrew loved his new "bed" right next to me on the floor at the snazzy Super 8 Motel where they make people "check out" the iron and ironing board... we didn't even want to see what sort of crib contraption they had

Taking over the remote and bed while we got ready... much more comfy!

So happy I sat in the back seat with him on the drive to Seattle- so easy to please!

Getting ready for the monorail to start... amazed by all the people

The happy shrieking started again once the monorail began to move! He loved it!

The line to go up the Space Needle was way too long for the short amount of time we had to hang out there... so instead we took Andrew on his first Ferris Wheel ride. He loved standing on our laps and looking around. The ride went nice and slow so we got to see a gorgeous view of the city several times. The Blue Angels were putting on a show while we rode, so it was fun to watch them fly through the sky.

Once we got off the Ferris Wheel, Andrew turned back into shrieking boy... and entertained us and everyone else on the monorail as we headed back to our car.

After our short sightseeing adventure, we hopped onto our Alaska Air MD-80 plane with no legroom and no space. Kev sat in his favorite seat (the middle) :). Andrew tried to save the aisle seat.

Unfortunately a standby person arrived to take the seat the second the doors were closing! We were disappointed... so instead, Andrew napped across both of our laps... since he is too long now to stay within the range of one seat and hates being confined in our arms. Kev's arm was in a pretty awkward position for most of the flight... and neither of us could put down our trays. So although we usually love his naps, we were both glad when he woke up.

Despite throwing off the little man's schedule a bit (which we paid heavily for on Sunday night when it was bedtime, but then he recovered quickly)... we had an awesome weekend and Andrew was an incredible traveler! He even let us get some sleep! It is so fun to watch his reactions to new environments and people! What a fabulous trip! Can't wait to go back to Seattle again sometime soon and visit family and check out more of the sights.

how fun! we had kate sleep in her suitcase when we went to vegas once. much cheaper than renting a crib and no extra luggage!

i HATE being on flights when kate doesn't get her own seat. people have switched with the flight attendant before to get away from us.
