The time has come...

to say goodbye to our special friends...

(the Miracle blanket, aka Andrew's "baby strait-jacket")

and his nighttime pacifier friend
(the daytime pacifier friend might stick around so
that I don't go insane on my runs)

Both have given Andrew many many nights of at least 8 straight hours of sleep (if we would actually go to sleep at 7pm, we could also get 8 consecutive hours)... but we're tired of the nighttime pacifier sleep disturbances and we can't fight the strength of the little man anymore with the swaddle. He's almost 6 months old, so he's ready. We've been working up to this for several weeks now. Kevin and I are having a party to celebrate tonight. We figure, if we choose to stay up all night and party, then if the little man doesn't sleep and decides to "protest," at least our sleep won't be disturbed. :)

Ask us about our progress in a week... if we're still alive. I'm making cookies for the neighbors this afternoon.

good luck. we'll be praying for you all =) We're planning on starting a similar torture next week when the basement is finished and Allen & the big girls can go down there and sleep undisturbed. Please oh please let it work and quickly. We're desperate for some sleep.

You're always welcome to party in Provo too. There are no neighbors to worry about, plus "Grandma Julie" and I can tag team with you and Kevin during the night (and next day) if Andrew's not sleeping. Grandpa Kim

I'll be interested to hear if you think it's worth it - to start him on the habits then break him, or never start at all.
