BBQing and playing in the pool (thanks Pharris family!)
and checking out a few fireworks
We were too lame to take Andrew to see the fireworks at a park in Santa Clara (instead we made him go to bed at his normal time). We were surprised to discover that we had a great view of the fireworks from our front lawn. Kev & I got out our folding chairs and joined our neighbors for the show.
Kev thought the show was too good for Andrew to miss... so he went and woke him up. Andrew enjoyed the show for a few minutes and then decided his dad was crazy and it was too late to be awake (and cold!).
Fortunately he went back to sleep immediately after the finale (which was incredible).
This year's 4th was definitely not as action packed as our out of this world 4th of July celebration last year... but it was a great relaxing way to start off the new month!
We are so grateful for our independence and the sacrifices many men and women make to keep our country safe! Happy 4th of July!

ohmygoodness. that finale was the greatest i've ever seen. AMAZING. like $100,000 worth of bang in 30 seconds.
