Easter Weekend

We spent the majority of the weekend in our pjs watching General Conference and hanging out as a little family. I have been looking forward to conference weekend for months, so we tried not to plan anything that would make us miss it.

Little dude colored lots of pictures of Jesus and families and painted coloring pages of the General Authorities when they got up to talk. It was so cute to hear him trying to say their names. He also ate a bucket load of candy which helped him stay quiet and let us enjoy conference in tiny spurts.

In the afternoon while Kevin was at Priesthood Session, my neighbor and I had a little spur of the moment Easter Egg hunt for the kids on our front lawn. The kids weren't really into hunting eggs, but had more fun chasing each other (and me) around,

hiding in our bushes,

and then wandering around the cul-de-sac holding hands.

So cute! His little buddy kept trying to give him hugs too, so that's why she kept chasing him... he wasn't really into it. It was so funny to watch.

On Easter morning Andrew decided to wake up at 6:30am and greet the day. He was excited to see that the Easter bunny had arrived.

He loved all treats that were large and messy.

We made waffles and watched more conference.

Later in the day we headed to my cousin Jenny's house for Easter dinner. We ate honey baked ham, delicious homemade rolls, spinach salad, and twice baked potatoes. I am still dreaming about the rolls. They were so good!

The kids loved sitting at their own table and kept themselves entertained through dinner. My favorite was Andrew and Kate's, "NO WAY," "YES WAY" yelling competition. During dinner Andrew probably ate three rolls... and then kept sneaking to the table or counter and stealing more rolls.

The kids played and played until they were so tired (Andrew's face was the color of a tomato) and then they chilled and watched "The Princess and the Frog."

We had such a fun night full of good food, great family, and some new friends.

Of course I forgot to get a picture of Andrew in his "Easter" outfit. I was lame and didn't even buy him anything special this year, so we just went shopping in his closet for something to wear. It was pouring rain here and definitely didn't feel like pastel suit or springy sweater vest sort of weather. Hopefully I'm more on the ball next year.

With or without the cute Easter outfit, we had a phenomenal weekend. Watching General Conference and focusing on the things that matter the most- our faith, family, and our Savior- was the best way to spend Easter weekend!
