An Active Tuesday

Today we trekked down to Happy Hollow with Izzie and Sarah. I've been wanting to go for awhile and was glad we finally made it down.

The day was gorgeous and the little man had loads of fun exploring and climbing.

I'm not quite sure how the incredibly large playground is less scary than the little dinky kids rides... but Andrew wanted nothing to do with the rides at the park. He threw a tantrum every time I tried to strap him in... so instead we just climbed and explored.

Izzie and Andrew were mesmerized by the train roller coaster thing that they were dying to ride... they are just a little too short... so instead they just stared, and Andrew kept saying, "look at that! wow!"

In order to get the two crazy kids to actually follow us around, we had them chase each other.

I love this little boy! He cracks me up. Just went up and down on this ladybug rocker again and again, singing and screaming.

This week is Mother Goose week (or something like that), so we went to a few puppet shows. The first one was cute and we sang fun songs.

The second one was a little disturbing for little kids- The King of the Golden River. Sarah and I kept looking at each other and laughing. Fairy tales that involve punching people, boxing their ears, etc. aren't the sort of ones I encourage Andrew to listen to. The overall message was about sharing and being kind to people, but the mean characters in the story (and there were too many!) were a little creepy.

Andrew kept running away to play in the dirt, but then would get drawn back in again and again.

After lunch and the shows, we hung out with the goats at the zoo. Little dude was obsessed with brushing them.

We ended the day with a few turns on the Carousel. I was shocked that Andrew went on it happily. Last summer he would never go on the carousel (but would go on all the other rides).

These two were both being total cheese monsters while we were on the ride and just kept yelling "cheese" and smiling. They had so much fun together.

As we headed out of the park... we got popsicles for the little guys and then hoped they would crash the second we got in the car.

Since we were in the South Bay, we decided to head up to the Peninsula to show Sarah around Palo Alto and take a quick trip to Sprinkles. I am now addicted to the black & white cupcakes.

It was a great way to end the day... and start off our drive back to the East Bay... other than the fact that Andrew yelled "cupcakes" for about half of our ride home. Sarah's great singing and entertaining skills kept everyone happy until we finally made it home around 5pm. It was a long but fun day (especially since I started it off with a 5am youth temple trip). I need to hit the sack soon!

Just gotta pack for a quick trip to the US Lacrosse WDIA National Championship in Scottsdale, AZ tomorrow. Go Cougars!!!
