Rehearsal Dinner

In Mormon world the concept of a "rehearsal dinner" the night before a wedding is pretty pointless... since we don't really have anything to rehearse, but we started a tradition at my wedding where all the family and bridal party get together the night before the wedding for some bonding time over delicious food.

For Scott & Cat's dinner on Friday night, we headed to Postino, a beautiful and cozy restaurant up in Lafayette. I had the Insalata Spinaci (Baby Spinach salad with red wine vinaigrette, red onion, and asiago cheese), Penne Pasta w/ calabrese sausage (didn't eat these), sundried tomatoes, yukon gold potatoes, spinach and pecorino, and then some awesome chocolate molten cake-like thing for dessert. Mmmm!

(shortly after this photo was taken, our menu got mutilated by the paper monster-aka Andrew)

The food was delicious and it was fun to mix and mingle with cousins, siblings, friends, parents, and grandparents of the soon-to-be bride & groom.

Jessie, Elise & Dan (notice Elise is wearing a 3/4 length black cardigan... I also wore one... despite our conversation a few hours earlier where we attempted to coordinate clothes for the weekend so that we didn't bring all of the same things... nonetheless, we can't escape it, we do this all too often. I am only sad that I forgot to take a twinner picture. Kev was so confused all weekend, he kept following the wrong wife around)

Jenny & Chris

Kim & Jules (Father & Mother of the Groom)

Steve & Tony (Father & Mother of the Bride)

Steven. Nathan, Jon, & Stewart (NJ buds and groomsmen)

The cute couple

Cat & the boys (not quite sure if they meant to dress alike, but it worked great for pictures)

Jessie & Laura (Scott & Cat's little sisters and both about the same age)

G & G Brown! So glad they could come out!

The dinner was awesome- lots of connections were made with the Peers family... including the discovery that Elise had been Cat's sister's English 313 teacher at BYU and in the same ward at BYU with Cat's brother- ah, what a small world- especially if you are Mormon and went to BYU!!
