Traveling

One of the only things I think about when we travel is, "How much space is there by the hotel bathroom or in the hall for Andrew's crib?"

After too many trips when the little man screamed or kept us both up all night, this is the only critically important question when traveling. Andrew cannot be able to see us if he is sleeping. If he can, he thinks it is time to party. There is no point paying for torture... which is kind of what our Boston trip was last year (Andrew didn't sleep and I was positively EVIL because I was so overtired).

Fortunately, our President's Day weekend trip to Santa Barbara was delightful. The little guy was crammed in the small space between the door, bathroom, and bedroom- just far enough away that he couldn't turn on the faucet or open the door to escape from the room. Not far enough way that he could pound on the neighboring walls though... oh well... the rooms were filled with loud lacrosse players anyway.

The highlight of our evening once we put him down was listening to him fall asleep (while we tried to be as silent as possible around the corner).

Favorite lines Andrew said to himself while settling into bed...

"Good job Andrew"

"No, I'll get it... I'll get it" (if his pacifier fell out of his mouth)

and "Jumping!" (when he wasn't tired enough and decided to do some bouncing)

After he passed out each night, we whipped out our laptop with our latest Netflix arrival and our headphones (which we had to share bc we forgot our splitter).

Little dude even slept in until 8:30am one day. Happy Valentine's Day to us. Traveling is so much better now.
