4 years ago on October 10th, Kevin took me up to Ghirardelli Square for a date. I had really been craving a big ice cream sundae. After we ate ice cream and some really rich hot cocoa, we went for a walk by Aquatic Park. He surprised me and proposed to me on our walk. Every year on October 10th we try and do something to commemorate this special day. We always love an excuse to eat lots of ice cream and go to San Francisco.

This year things were a little more lively and crowded with Andrew tagging along and Fleet Week going in full force.

Waiting for a our table

Kevin managed to score us the same table we sat at 4 years ago... which was a feat considering it was standing room only in the ice cream shop.

Little man kept us occupied and entertained while we waited... it took them awhile to bring our treats... but they were worth it!

Making goofy faces while we waited

So excited about the cherry

I ordered my favorite sundae: chocolate ice cream and cookie dough ice cream hot fudge sundae. Their hot fudge is SOOOOO good! Kevin got a peanut butter sundae with cookie dough ice cream. Andrew ate lots of whipped cream, marshmallows (from the hot cocoa) and chewed the cherry to bits. We're still not quite sure where Andrew came from... he doesn't really like ice cream that much... which we didn't mind, because it meant more for us!

After our treat we went and took a photo in the very spot where Kevin proposed to me. Fortunately this time there were no skunks lurking about. Andrew loved playing on the beach in Aquatic Park.

We also climbed up the hill to Fort Mason. Andrew walked up the entire hill by himself... which was quite an accomplishment! He has never-ending energy. He yelled "go, go, go" the whole time we were walking and was still running around once we reached the top.

Such a fun day of celebration!

If you look really closely at my shirt pocket in the 2005 picture, you can just make out the outline of the engagement ring (well, not really, but that's where it was). :-) A great tradition four years and running!

We're so glad you bought it. It has been wonderful to have you as part of the family. I don't think I could have picked out anyone cooler myself =) Good work Kev!
