On Wednesday, Elise & Maddie picked us up at the SLC Airport and we headed down to the mall in Sandy to pick up a Mrs. Fields cookie cake for my mom (she just started her new job on Tuesday and we are so proud of her!).
We ate some lunch and then went on a carousel ride or two...
Then we headed to Gymboree for some quick shopping. Andrew and Maddie chilled in front of the tube while we did some browsing.
Next we heard some train whistles and were off to find out where they were coming from...
Andrew was SO EXCITED to discover that there was a train IN THE MALL! And that we could RIDE IT!
The coolest part was that the conductor was wearing a costume and said, "All Aboard!" like the conductor in the Polar Express.
Andrew was in heaven.
Maddie was at her cutest and waved at all her admiring fans as we circled the mall.
Andrew sat in awe as we went past stores and listened to the train whistle again and again. He could barely believe his luck! I think we have set a new standard for mall trips in his eyes now!
He couldn't even smile... he just had a shocked/in awe sort of look on his face the whole time.
After our train ride we got huge cookie sandwiches and picked up a terribly decorated cookie cake at Mrs Fields. The discount the sheepish sales girl gave us made up for the awful frosting job and we enjoyed our cookies and diet Cokes as we drove down to Provo with two crazy nap-starved kiddos!

So fun. . . I love that mall and wish our malls had carousels and trains, esp. for hot or rainy days! By the way, my sister says that Expected booth at Costco is called the Lilac traveling show (or something) and it's no longer at Draper but hopefully it's still around somewhere.
