We had several opportunities last week to hang out with the Buskirk girls and a few of the Johnson boys. We loved it!
First stop was a trip to Jungle Jim's Playland...
The playland had all the rides that I love ;) (the ones that go around and around in circles and make me sick). Fortunately Andrew doesn't take after me and had a grand old time!
Sarah rode with him on several of the rides where he needed an "adult" to accompany him. I was stoked.
Poor Leah wasn't a huge fan of this ride and Shari finally just asked the guy to stop it. I would've felt the same way!
Kids get over things quick though... everyone was so excited about the jeep ride a few seconds after the flying boats were done. Aren't Leah's wavy pigtails the cutest thing ever?
Sarah- making sure Andrew knew that he was really in charge by riding with no hands on the steering wheel.
These two share the same brain sometimes. They would've both stayed on the swings ALL day. I think they went around a total of at least 10 times before we left. Leah was so relaxed we thought she might fall asleep right on the swings.
All the cousins on the swings at once! Tommy and Topher were technically too tall for the ride, so the operator just told them to lift up their legs.
Once Topher and Tommy arrived you would've thought the girls no longer existed.
Whenever we ask Andrew if he wants a little brother or little sister... he always says, "BIG BROTHER!" Sorry kid, since I didn't have your big bro back when I was 18, Tommy and Topher will have to do for now.
They were great surrogate brothers for the day. I think I want to adopt them.
Andrew adoringly just handed Topher the skee ball balls when they played. He didn't really want to throw them himself, but rather just watch Topher do it.
After we gave the older boys a break from Andrew worshipping, Leah and Andrew faced off at skee ball. Andrew made sure to tell me later in the day that, "Andrew ROLLED the ball" and "Leah bounced the ball." Neither were too successful at ever getting balls up the ramp, but at least it made the game go on for a long time.
After the fun died down and the adults started getting headaches, we headed off to Fazoli's for lots of breadsticks, pasta, and pizza.
Andrew and Leah couldn't have been happier playing in line. They both started doing the same thing at the same time. It was pretty funny... and helpful that they could keep themselves entertained while all ten of us ordered.
Andrew spent lunch time next to his buddies Topher and Tommy. When he sat next to the boys and Shauna he looked like he could be a mini little Johnson boy. Andrew chowed down on breadsticks and sauce while he kept tabs on the older boys. The five minutes the boys spent in the bathroom were like agony for the poor little guy. He kept saying, "Topher went to the bathroom... Mommy, Topher is in the bathroom... where is Topher?" on and on and on. A little obsessed maybe? We will definitely have to hang out with the Johnson boys again when we head back to Utah in a few weeks.
Cousin fun continued on Saturday when Shari and the Buskirk girls came to join us at my parent's swimming pool. I loved the view of all the kids walking to the pool with their noodles and towels.
Leah and Andrew had fun jumping and doing "cannonballs."
The day was absolutely gorgeous. Mt. Timp. in the background was exquisite. We could've stayed outside all day basking in the sun and playing in the water.
The girls kept us entertained with Marco Polo, shark games (with Aunt Jessie being the shark), and carrying each other around the pool. Ella was especially excited that she could carry her older sister (and Jessie) around in the pool. I'm going to have them do this again later in the summer with me when I am feeling like a pregnant whale. I think it will make me feel so good that they can pick me up still. :)
We finally had to say goodbye to the Buskirk girls after way too much fun... and get ready to head up to Maddie's big 1st birthday bash!
I love it when we can pack so much fun into a short visit!
