Touristy Father's Day Weekend

Andrew and I flew back from Utah early Saturday morning. We were greeted at the airport by Kevin, Shauna, and Randy. Shauna & Randy (Kev's sister and her husband) drove from Utah to Cali on Friday and stayed with us over the weekend before their early Monday morning departure to Oregon.

After we got our bags at the airport, we headed into the city to do some of our favorite SF activities. We started off at AT&T Park to try and have a tour at the ball park, but it was closed for a private event, so we just wandered around and let Andrew run his energy out... and then we headed to Ghirardelli Square.

We started with lunch at Lori's Diner and then went to Ghirardelli for some sundaes.

Kev, Shauna, and Randy decided to split the earthquake- eight scoops of ice cream, eight toppings, bananas, etc. It was huge.

I got Andrew a small kiddie scoop with sprinkles. Hmm... definitely not the small kiddie scoop I was picturing... especially in the glass bowl. Little dude loved it though and got more mint chip ice cream on his pants and the table than anywhere else.

Andrew kept us entertained with his ice cream dance.

I think we were all a little sick of ice cream by the time we were done... especially the earthquake people.

We walked down to Aquatic Park to watch the crazy people swimming in the freezing water and then we headed home.

Saturday night, Randy, Shauna, Kevin and I went to the Showbiz end of the year show to cheer on some of the youth in our church classes.

On Sunday we had fun celebrating Father's Day. Andrew woke Kevin up nice and early yelling, "Happy Father's Day daddy!"

After church we gave Kev his presents. Andrew & I made Kevin a Super Hero Box filled with his favorite treats (awesome idea by Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day!).

We also gave the grillmaster some new tools for our new BBQ. They were used immediately.

After some naps and present opening, we had a yummy Father's Day BBQ. I made a 7 layer bean dip and spinach salad with candied walnuts and dried cranberries... and then we grilled chicken, burgers, hot dogs, and corn on the cob. We ate far too much. Andrew was a total ham during dinner and kept us entertained with dancing and his favorite renditions of all the songs he'd sung in nursery.

After dinner we lounged outside in the gorgeous weather while Andrew ran around and then
spent the evening watching "Invictus" and pigging out on peanut butter bar sundaes.

We loved being home to spend the day with Kevin. He is such an amazing dad! We are so lucky!

We also loved getting to spend last week with my dad. Not only is he an awesome dad, but he is an extraordinary grandpa. Andrew loved his Slurpee trips to Wills and bug hunting walks with his grandpa. Although Andrew is happy to be home, sometimes when we are going home he starts crying and says he wants to see Grandpa instead and go to Grandpa's house. Andrew has a lot of fans, but I think Grandpa is one of his biggest fans.

Happy Father's Day Kevin & Dad!
