A few things

Every park where we live has some sort of water feature that comes on during the summer. We now plan our runs so that we arrive a little before the water turns on and then bring our swimsuits. Andrew gets so excited about being in the water that he can't stop screaming.

Who knew three little sprinklers could be so exciting? All the other kids mostly stood around and watched Andrew... he was too entertaining to miss.

He reminds us of the dog in the movie "UP" sometimes, because he'll be totally focused doing something and then see a bug... and he'll yell, "bug" and then he drops everything he is doing to watch the bug (in UP, the dog is constantly distracted by squirrels).

Lately little dude has been loving ladybugs and finds them EVERYWHERE. He has amazing eyes. Once he finds them he loves having them crawl all over his arms and my hands.

When we're not at the park playing in the water, I've been perfecting my birthday cookie making skills. I could totally work at Mrs. Fields, right? (since you know that would be my dream job ;))

We have also been BBQ'ing up a storm. We finally got a new BBQ over Memorial Day weekend and have used it more times than I care to admit over the past two weeks. I've especially loved the corn on the cob and asparagus. I also love the minimal kitchen clean up and the use of paper plates so I have less dishes to do!

Andrew's current love is his little bike. He always rides a similar one at our neighbor's house. I knew I'd seen one before... so I checked our garage, and sure enough, he'd gotten one from G&G Smith for Christmas... and we still hadn't broken it out. He talks about it all day and will do pretty much anything I ask him to do if I will assure him that doing what I say will lead to him getting to ride his bike. I love the power that I now have.

All innocent- "what do you mean I shouldn't be in here?"

He will even ride the bike alone all over the backyard for awhile while I do the above mentioned cookie baking. Sometimes he tries to sneak into the house and ride the bike, which isn't allowed. I totally love his mischievous look/grin in the picture below because he totally knows he's doing something he shouldn't.

We also had a fun trip to a new (to us) park in Piedmont last week... and then we went to lunch at Fentons with Sarah & Izzie.

I love Izzie's look in this picture because you can tell she
just really wants to start digging in to the ice cream!

Andrew was more excited about our ice cream than I was... which I didn't think was possible. I was too full from lunch and kept putting down my spoon... he kept picking the spoon back up, handing it to me, and saying "mommy, keep eating."

He ate every last drop of hot fudge and caramel (or maybe put it on his face?) and almost every bite of his lunch too.

He was so well behaved at lunch as well. I was amazed. He never got off his seat and was mostly a delight... other than when he and Izzie had some screaming competitions. It is never a dull moment with those two little buddies. They are so funny together!

I feel so lucky to have such a cute little buddy to hang out with every day.

I could watch Andrew run all day. He totally cracks me up with his little arms flying up and down and back and forth. So cute!

I don't know what sounds better - your grilled veggies or that cookie cake!!!
