I Think I'll Go to Boston...

... again and again and again!

We absolutely LOVED Boston!

This is how we felt when we landed at Logan Airport after 6.5 hours on the airplane with Andrew. He only screamed for about 35 minutes of the entire flight... so that was a plus.

Fortunately Virgin America only managed to lose one of our bags (our brand new pack n play) and that was only because TSA felt that it posed some sort of security threat to the nation.

We cheered ourselves up by heading to our apartment in the North End, dropping bags off, and then enjoying some delicious Italian food and hitting up Mike's Pastries for some chocolate cannolis.

Fortunately our church is just as awesome in Boston as it is in Cali. While we ate dinner the Relief Society President in my brother's ward had located us a pack n play for Andrew to borrow for the weekend. It almost didn't matter though since the kid's schedule was so thrown off he barely slept in the crib that night anyway.

Day 2:

By the time we made it up and out of our apartment on Friday it was lunchtime. We ate some delicious thin crust pizza at an awesome pizza place in the North End. It was sooooo good! I miss East Coast pizza already!

Then we briefly visited some of the places on the Freedom Trail and we also stopped by the New England Holocaust Memorial. It was breathtaking and very powerful.

We got to see where "Mother Goose" was buried.

We also let Andrew run around in the Boston Common (huge park) in the middle of the city. He loved chasing the pigeons.

We also visited almost all of the Walgreens and CVS Drugstores in the city trying to find Andrew's pacifiers because he lost a few on our walk.

After Andrew-man threw a major jett-lagged tantrum on "The T" (Boston's subway), we thought we'd have to cancel our Duck Tour trip. Fortunately he fell asleep after a few handfuls of M&Ms.

Kev got to drive the Duck boat. The entire 55 minute tour was so enjoyable while the little man slept!

Afterwards we went to the Aquarium. We were too cheap to take Andrew inside, but he absolutely loved the otters (or seals?) outside... so he didn't care.

Next we rode The T to Harvard Square for some dinner at FiRE + iCE with Kevin's old college friend Jesse, his wife, and their little girl who is about the same age as Andrew.

The dinner was somewhat of a disaster for Andrew b/c he was too tired to eat and just wanted to walk... so Andrew and I wandered the streets by Harvard while Kevin enjoyed dinner. Afterwards we headed back to Jodi and Jesse's house and the little guys got to play for a few minutes. They were so cute and just passed toys back and forth.

We arrived home exhausted around 11:00pm that night only to discover that our apartment key was in our apartment! Once that was all sorted out, we hit the sack! We couldn't believe we'd only been in Boston for a little over 24 hours. This trip was non-stop craziness and fun! More posts to come.

I love Boston! My favorite picture is of Andrew from behind walking around the streets of Boston on his way to get a pastry. He looks like a little man who is in charge, but really we all know his Mama is!

Sounds like you had a great time.

I could go to Boston again and again on vacation, but you couldn't pay me to live through their winters.
