Winding Down

Our last two adventures of our Boston trip were to the Boston LDS Temple and to Harvard University.

Cat kept Andrew entertained on the drive. He loves his Aunt Cat!

I had never visited the Boston Temple before. Kevin worked there as a security person one summer a few years ago. He had fun showing us around the grounds. It was beautiful.

Andrew loved gently touching the flowers...

and running around on the pathways.

We attempted another family picture. Andrew was too intrigued by the grass.

Later that evening we met up with Scott at Harvard University while Cat headed to work at The Gap (where, btw, she gets a 50% discount... I am very jealous!). Tents and chairs were all set up for graduation and it was fun seeing a lot of the graduates walking around with their parents.

We just wandered around the campus and let Andrew play. He loved following the birds around and watching a group of guys playing soccer in one of the quads. He began lecturing in the middle of campus.

He also liked going up and down the stairs.

Ahh... longing to go to Harvard... is it too early to apply?

Little man felt too old to be caught dead riding in a stroller at such a prestigious university, so instead he pushed his stroller around campus.

I loved the beautiful buildings and New England architecture.

Andrew loved yelling at the squirrels that would run up the trees away from him.

Uncle Scott put Andrew to work helping the construction crew.

After our walk around campus, we went for some dessert at Herrell's Ice Cream Parlor. The hot fudge was to die for. I was so sick afterwards. Scott and Kevin were even crazier than I was and loaded their ice cream up with regular and chocolate whipped cream.

Andrew acted like an orphan we had picked up off the street and refused to eat the ice cream. It was quite shocking... but on the drive home we were all wishing maybe we'd eaten a little bit less ice cream... but mmm it was delicious anyway! What a great way to spend our last real day in Boston! I already can't wait to go back some day (though not in the near future with a toddler again).
