Yesterday and Wednesday were incredibly packed, fun-filled days!
Yesterday we took a trek down to Gilroy Gardens for what I consider to be a "dream come true" sort of day for Andrew. Hopefully we'll make it back one more time before the end of the summer... but if not, I think we lived it up to the fullest yesterday.
We started off with a train ride around the park.
Then we hit up the Curious George Jungle show. The performers that were really into it (including the lady on the right with too much make-up and pantyhose under her shorts) kept Sarah and I laughing the entire show.
Andrew tried to dance along with George
and hugged him like a starstruck smitten fan. He also said "Hi George!" loudly throughout the show while waving at the stage... thinking maybe somehow George would notice?
We rode the cars again and again and again. The lines were super short (if there were any at all), so we just watched as they went around and around.
Andrew spent the day learning how all the seat belts at the entire park worked. He wanted to strap himself in "all by myself!" and was pretty successful at it. Fortunately he didn't figure out how to unstrap himself.
We went on the mini carousel where we could just watch and chat and they could ride. The teenager running the ride just let it go around and around since they were the only ones on it some of the time... and they kept asking for more.
We drove the cool cars too. Andrew tried to drive but almost launched himself out of the car with how hard he was bumping the sides of the road... so I took over and he enjoyed the scenery.
The boat ride was pretty mellow and slow
but these two had fun goofing around
We also went on the yellow fishies about a hundred times. The guy running the ride kept yelling for the kids to put their arms in the air... so Andrew did and loved it.
They also went on the spinning tubs (kind of like the spinning tea cups at Disneyland). I was so happy they could ride by themselves. They loved having an older little buddy to spin them and they just held on for dear life (although it looked like they were lounging and making miss J do all the work).
We ended the day with a ride on the balloons. I watched (since I hate this ride and didn't want to start our trek home already feeling nauseous). Several of my friends from Santa Clara were also down at Gilroy Gardens for the day, so it was fun to meet up with them and go on some rides and let the little guys hang out.
Our last stop on the way to the car was for ICE CREAM!
The sugar and sun knocked Andrew & Izzie out cold for at least part of our ride home... and I almost took a nap too. We had such a great day! We are going to miss our buddies Izzie and Sarah when they are gone this summer!
