Celebrate!

This afternoon our neighbors threw us a pink party to celebrate the impending arrival of Baby Caitlin! I cannot believe that I am almost in my 3rd trimester. Insane! Wish we could pause time a bit.

We enjoyed some good food and had fun chatting and watching the kids run around like crazy hyper people- I guess that's what happens when you give 2 and 3 year-olds ice cream sundaes and cookies and ice cream pie :)

When we got there the little man sat at the table and ate macaroni all by himself (all the other kids were running around playing) and kept saying, "Yay Party! Yay Party!" over and over again to himself.

Begging for more ice cream :)

Like I mentioned before... there were wayyy too many desserts- my sort of party. We will be eating the rest of this cheesecake all week long.

Balloon dance party

Goofing around with one of his little buddies

The funniest part of the night was when the kids were all running around screaming "HELP!" outside and telling us about a bird that they had found and had touched... and we couldn't see anything, so we thought they were just pretending. We kept saying, "sure, go play with the bird" and just kept chatting inside... about 20 min later we went outside on the patio and discovered an injured baby bird stuck on a fence... which they had actually been touching and talking to.

Everyone quickly got their hands washed and we checked out the poor baby bird. It is doubtful that it will survive more than a few days. Maybe next time we'll actual believe the kids. :)

The other highlight of the evening was when we got home from the party (thrown FOR us)... and I started talking with Kevin about the presents we got (after he'd left early to go to a church meeting) and how they gave us the leftover cheesecake... and yada yada, saying "wasn't that such a nice thing for them to do for us?"... and then Kevin was telling his mom about our night and he finally realized that the party had been for us. Somehow he'd thought it was a b-day party for the neighbor girl. I couldn't stop laughing... especially when he said, "Ah, the Congratulations on the cake makes so much more sense now." :) ... and maybe all the little babies and strollers on the tablecloth and plates? I guess he was a little too caught up talking tech with the other dads :)

Anyway, good times. I love our neighbors. They are so thoughtful. What a fun night!
