Obsessed!

The little man is OBSESSED with snails right now.

We do art projects about snails.


Read books about snails (he stayed quiet through most of church on Sunday, other than to yell SNAILS whenever he found one in his book)

Shows EVERY poor little friend that comes over where his snails live. Most kids aren't as enthusiastic about them as he is.

In the broken sprinkler hole there are even snail babies

On the side of the house there are two snails just hanging out

Positives of this current obsession-

1. Sometimes he will stay outside for 30-40 minutes all by himself checking out his snails and playing.

2. We could leave him with any babysitter and he wouldn't ever care that we left... as long as he has the full attention of that babysitter and the babysitter is willing to stay outside for hours checking out snails (and spider webs). Much better than him throwing tantrums when we leave :)

Negatives of the obsession-

1. Little dude wants to be outside checking out at the snails at 7:30am when he wakes up. Unfortunately, the snails don't wake up until 9am ;) (or at least that's what I say)

2. I make things for breakfast that look like snails (mostly pancakes in snail shapes)... and then I have to cut them up for Andrew. I don't really enjoy cutting the snail's heads off. I do like their chocolate chip eyes though.

3. We spend our time at the park every day looking for snails... and rarely find any.

I think I liked his obsession with balls a bit better :) Hopefully this one ends soon.
