Farm Time!

Yesterday we met up with three of my friends and several little buddies at Ardenwood Historical Farm in Fremont. It is a working farm and is so cute! They have lots of animals, a beautiful historical house that we couldn't go inside with crazy kids, a blacksmith shop, and a little outdoor kitchen... among other things.

Andrew loved chasing the chickens. When one of the workers held the chicken for him to touch, he wouldn't go near it... he just wanted to scare it and chase it. Good thing the worker wasn't around too much!

The HUGE pigs were also a big hit. Andrew and Livvy were so darling together- taking turns bossing each other around. :) "Livvy, come over here"... "Andrew come this way"

Andrew thought the guy riding the tractor was pretty cool too... unfortunately we didn't find any tractors that we could ride.

We helped take the kernels off the corn in the outdoor kitchen and then watched as the guy made popcorn (and burned some of it)!

Most of the kids from our little group hanging out at the outdoor kitchen. Everyone wanted a turn taking the kernels off.

Unfortunately the popcorn wasn't nearly as yummy to Andrew as eating the hard kernels. I loved it though.

Waiting for the train! We only missed it once... (since all the workers told us the wrong time), so while we waited another hour for the next train, we went off to the cute picnic tables and had lunch.

I love how water fountains are always such a bit hit. Luckily Miss J was strong because Andrew was trying with all his might and couldn't get the water to come out!

Another fun water toy. I think this used to be my favorite thing in Little House on the Prairie... wish I had one in my backyard. Too bad all the kids were too short to reach it on their own.

Checking out the goats

Attempting to break into the rabbit pens... little dude was so bummed when he discovered they were locked!

Making rope... at least this is the machine you use.

We finally got on the train right at my little guy was starting to melt down! The ride was fun but you know the little guy is tired when he keeps asking to go home! Fortunately we made it back before he crashed and then both of us got to take naps from 3-5pm. Fabulous!

The grounds at Ardenwood were so pretty... and nicely shaded... and we only made it to part of it. We will definitely have to go back again when the little dude is less tired!
