Grandparents & ZooLights

Grandpa Kim and Grandma Julie arrived yesterday!

We got started immediately checking off activities on my December "to do"list... so we headed right to the Oakland Zoo for ZooLights 2010. We will definitely be making this activity a new family tradition!

I bundled Caitlin up in the bjorn and she slept soundly while the rest of us explored the zoo.

Little man was especially excited to visit the zoo's bug house.

After we saw all the light shows in the zoo, we went on the rides!

After waiting far too long for the cool train, we finally managed to all squish on one small bench. Good thing we did... since the train ride ended up being the highlight of Andrew's evening. He loved getting to see the real kangaroos right next to the train!

The other required stop whenever we are in Oakland is FENTONS! We headed there for a late dinner... and of course, ice cream. We all ate way too much, but had a blast. Caitlin continued to sleep the night away.

My cute toddler only wanted vanilla ice cream with candy canes (not my child! ;)). The waitress was super nice and brought him several candy canes... which he proceeded not to eat. Silly kid! I had an insanely huge sundae with tons and tons of hot fudge. Kevin was very jealous... he never seems to pick a sundae with enough fudge.

Any holiday activity paired with ice cream and good food is a successful one in my book! Next up is a visit with Santa, a small cookie swap party, and a trip to the Google Holiday party (If I can find something to wear)!

Can't believe there are less than two weeks till Christmas!

What a fun day! We are definitely going to miss you guys- somehow moving doesn't seem quite real yet since we are not in North Carolina. :)
