Sweet Friday

I absolutely LOVE Andrew's weekly Mom's Day Out class. I love it when it is my turn to be Andrew's "teacher" (and I also love the other 6 Fridays when I get 3 hours off). Andrew does too. All morning he'll ask me, "you're going to be my teacher today?"... and then when we are at class he'll keep saying, "you're my teacher today?" "That makes me happy."

Today the kiddos were being goofy and hiding in the play kitchen. I thought it was too funny not to snap a picture. Andrew's "cousin" Kate is one of his favorite people at class. Today they had a good time being silly together.

I also helped the kids make a turkey craft. After we were done, I went around and asked them what they were grateful for and wrote what they said on their turkey feathers. I was amazed that every kid had so much to say!... and little groups of them would follow me around and list off more and more things that they were grateful for. My favorite was when one kid said he was grateful for ketchup. I also thought it was adorable that Andrew said he was grateful for Macy (Kate's little sister).

At the end of MDO, my cousin Jenny surprised me with a yummy early birthday present, a red velvet cake from A Sweet Affair in Walnut Creek. It was delish!... and with Kevin working from home, I can't imagine it being around too much longer. We dug in right when we got home.

Andrew probably spent 3 hours riding around on a tricycle at class and I am exhausted from picking up all the toys (it is amazing how quickly kids can dump buckets of toys out)... so I have a feeling we both might be taking good naps today... especially since our bellies are nice and full of red velvet cake! Thanks Jenny!
