Ringing in 2011

New Years Eve day was filled with lots of fun and a packed schedule.

We started off the morning with a visit at 8am from Scott & Tito. They joined us for a waffle breakfast, Kinect bowling, present opening, and a tour of Andrew's favorite Christmas toys.

After they left, we headed off to Super Franks. Kim & Jules kept Andrew supplied with a years worth of tokens so that he could play skee ball nonstop. Meanwhile, Kevin, Caitlin, and I headed off to do some quick treadmill shopping.

Caitlin wasn't a fan of the shopping at first... but her dad lulled her to sleep while we tested treadmills.

Maybe she'd rather have a boxing gloves instead?

Since we were at the mall, we had to stop at Mrs. Fields and get Kim & Jules a thank you gift for watching Andrew ;) ... and since we were there, we had to get ourselves some cookies too. Kevin was feeling a little embarrassed since the salesperson that helped us has served Kevin at the store 3 times in the past week as he was buying gifts for me :)

After treadmill shopping, we had to pop into a few other furniture stores on our way out. This chair spoke to both of us. I am hoping it decides to come live at our house sometime soon.

After dropping off Kim & Jules at the airport (so sad!), we did some boring errands to the Honda dealership and the Party store and then we had a relaxing dinner at Fuddruckers. It is loud, has an arcade area, has cheese for my french fries, and Andrew actually behaves himself there... so we love it.

Caitlin slept

Andrew was introduced to "the claw"... which helped motivate him to eat some "real food" (since hot dogs and french fries are totally real food ;)) so that we would give him more tokens.

Any game that guarantees you will win something is awesome... especially if it is a claw game that grabs candy.

After dinner, we played endless games of Kinect bowling until the little man had to hit the sack at 7:30pm. Our friend Bryant arrived just as Andrew was heading to bed and then the real party got started.

I watched Kevin & Bryant battle it out trying all the Kinect Sports events. My favorite was Track & Field. It felt like there was an earthquake when they were both running the 100 meter relay and doing the hurdles. I really wish I had video footage. They made us delete it though. It was so funny. The long jump was even better... mostly because of Bryant's stellar performance ;)

chilling during the Kinect competition... does her hair resemble any 80s rockers you know?

We ate treats (scotcheroos and oreos, yum!) , played an intense game of Ticket to Ride, and then watched the ball drop with Ryan Seacrest, Dick Clark, NKOTB, and the BSB. Would've been fine without the chick with the blue lips though.

Caitlin stayed awake almost till midnight and nodded off at about 11:59... but when we all blew our blowers at midnight (simultaneously) and cracked open the Martinellis, she woke up and celebrated with us!

here she is wishing she could reach the blower... darn baby straight jacket!

Happy New Year!

2010 was pretty awesome, but I have a feeling 2011 will be even better!

I am in complete awe with all you are able to do with a toddler and newborn! I'm still feel housebound most of the time. This is a new year and I am inspired to do more. Thanks for the motivation!
